Unlocking the lifelong benefits of time on the water
Our coastline, rivers, lakes, canals and estuaries are more than places to enjoy the outdoors. The UK's blue spaces play an important role in helping us stay active, support our mental wellbeing, connect with others and build a lasting relationship with the natural environment. There's growing interest in spending more time in and around the water and this presents the RYA with an exciting opportunity to encourage more people, of all ages and backgrounds, to discover the benefits.
Whether inland or coast, motor or sail, time spent on the water can also inspire greater awareness of them. And a thriving watersports community supports businesses, skilled employment and local economies.
Ensuring that these experiences are accessible, welcoming and help to create a healthier, happier and more connected nation is important to us. Inside this issue you can find out how we’re working to ensure everyone has the opportunity to benefit from our blue spaces.
